In a comic, two panels of lightning strike is just considered normal, and a must have.
The ways of working it, like making it smaller and stuff do not really work in your one panel format.

Soooo, i would just live with it.

Only thing i can think of is just using the rest of the panel for something else interesting.
But, this is just the set up for the next punchline. So what you to do?
