Well, apparently you do not know how "laws" work.
The company that wants to regulate all of its competitors
writes a law, regulating the industry, that is exactly what they are already doing.
Then they get their people in Washington to put it into the hands of their bought official.
Then they go about talking to enough people, offering enough rewards
Then "congress" votes on and passes this law.
Then it is used by the "regulating agency" to selectively enforce this against anyone who is obstructing the company from its rightful place as monopoly. (yes, there may be several companies... but they are all in lock-step)
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse"
This has its roots in law. (lawyer speak)
If the law pertains to you and your business, you should be aware of it.
Else, you shouldn't be in that business.
Of course everyone is ignorant of the law, including lawyers, but that is by design of the system.
... but it is still your fault for the failing.
That is how govern-cement works.
Their failure is an error in the system
Your failure is a crime.
