Here is an example.

Female friend says, "Trump is stupid because he is pulling out of the Paris accord"
"We need to help the planet and Trump is destroying everything"

And then i tell her that the Paris accord has nothing in it that will actually help the planet.
That they just plan to tax everyone more.

I shoot down every one of her points she brings up.
I prove that this is the direction to go in helping the planet (she agrees)
and that this is the direction the Paris accord is going (like almost completely the other direction)

But, at the end of the conversation, she is still convinced that Trump is destroying everything.
How do you argue with a programmed midwit?

BTW, even writing an entire book doesn't get all your points and pieces across.
Such is the lack in communicative abilities of our language.
