Look at the image I shared with this post, too. Would this be a good use of space, or is it wasted volume for no good purpose?

This room is a piece of crap.

And it looks like it was created just for a photo.
Sure, it looks nice and balanced.

However, i cannot view any purpose for this room.

The entire wall past the couch is wasted space.
A little chest of drawers, more for decoration then useful.
A barrel for... i guess putting a cold beer on.
And the potted plant using up a huge corner.

So, what is the purpose of this room? To watch TV? Probably, as there isn't much else.

Can you imagine putting friends around this room for a board game?
I can conceive of only putting 4 people in here. And they would be awkwardly placed around the board.

A room for conversations? Again, awkwardly placed.

No, what i guess is that someone did their best to use what furniture they had to fill the over-sized space.
