I completely disagree.

"Copyright" is a "legal" way to destroy the sharing of ideas and allowing the world to explode with new derivative works being built off each other.

Copyright - meaning a useful word, meant to convey to the unknowing that its about protecting the artist
(but everyone in the know, knows it means its a useful stick to pummel in upstart little person)

Legal - meaning a construct of convoluted meanings whereby a little person believes they will have their day in court and that they can argue their position
(but everyone in the know, knows it means its a useful stick to pummel upstart little people)

Copyright is just a psyop to get people to self censor... and failing that, to pummel them.
