The inventor is high in out there thinking. Usually focussed on things.
And that is pretty much a recipe for not being social, good at communication, and not a leader.

Thus, you have to find your salesman / recruiter.
And that seems to just be luck.

But you can make your luck by getting excited about one of your projects and getting it up and running.

The other piece is quieting that out of control judge in your head.
It is really hard to get and keep motivation when you have a part of you always saying, "you could have done better".
Tell that voice to shut up, or "bite me".
