First off, thought isn't done in the brain, nothing wired to the brain can pick up thought.

The brain is finely tuned crystal radio that receives billions of frequencies and works as a mind / body interface.

Depression and addiction are only dealt with dealing with the underlying emotions and the trauma that caused them.

Yeah, i guess you could "cure" depression by turning on the happy drug center ever time someone is detected as feeling down. But you get the same results hooking them up to a heroine drip.

You can't heal someone by ignoring the wound and just adding pain killers.

Further, you are here, on this planet, to heal those wounds. Everything else is superficial.
So, instead of doing what you set out to do, incarnating on this planet, you will become a heroine junkie robot at the whims of who ever programs the interface.

Just horrifying.
