Comparing oil to food is interesting.
Currently we use a lot of oil to produce food... which has left a lot of barren, unproductive land.
Soon, people will come together in largish groups or smallish cities and for the most part, won't be driving like we see today.
Why drive to work every day, when you can own a house and garden for 10 hours a week, and your life is pretty much set. The only reason the work-drive-sleep is because we let the banks rent, to us, all the houses.
So, by 2030 i believe we will use a lot less gasoline in developed worlds.
And really believe, if you don't grow food, you will starve, because no one will sell to a person who does not grow their own food.
