For Our American Friends

It’s a big day for the USA. Today our American friends vote for their next President and many people around the world are saying that this is the most important election in history. Well, I am not sure about that personally but even Blind Freddy can see that it is certainly one of the most Divisive in history. Some polls are saying that as many as 75% of Americans are expecting some form of violence after the election and people are even talking about the possibility of civil war or secession.

Regardless of the result of the election there are going to be a lot of unhappy people in the coming days. That part is unavoidable, but its how we handle that as peoples that I think IS really important.

The Silver Gold Stackers Community on HIVE is full of really great people who like to support each other. We have members from all over the world, from different backgrounds with different beliefs and ideas. Some of them (like me) might seem a bit wacky from time to time, but we are generally Apolitical as a community and very tolerant of peoples different beliefs even if we don’t agree with them. It is one of the reasons why I think SGS is so awesome. We are genuinely diverse, but we do also have a lot of brothers and sisters in the USA who might be having a tough time with how things are playing out.

So this post was just a little message to let our great American friends know that we are thinking of them and wishing you all the best for the coming days. The USA is such a great country, nobody here wants to see things get violent and I sincerely hope that it won’t. I also wanted to remind our fellow members here at SGS to please be respectful of each other. A lot of us like to go off on a rant from time to time and it’s good to get things off the chest...

However, sometimes it’s hard to know when people are going through a rough time and there are going to be a lot of people upset with the election result – whichever way it goes. Let’s be mindful of that and remember that what makes SGS great is our bond here between people and we need to make sure we don’t let divisive politics get between us.
