Every now and then a milestone comes up that’s worth acknowledging. Especially when every day life can be a bit of a struggle, I think it’s important to focus on some of the positives, no matter how small, and just remind yourself that you ARE actually making progress – Even if it’s slow. Just a short while ago I reached 3000 Followers on HIVE. I didn’t even realize I was getting close to that big number, but it’s nice and round so I figure why not celebrate it anyways?
I’ve been posting on HIVE (and STEEM before) since July 2017 so it’s taken me over 6 years of posting fairly regularly to get this many followers and I know that many of them are probably bots, or they are old users who never made the migration from STEEM and may have left the blockchain years ago. I’m not deluded into thinking that there are 3000 people out there reading my blog every day and hanging on every word I dribble out, but there are some real people out there who value some of what I have to say and that number is going up. It feels good.
There are plenty of times when posting on HIVE just feels like shouting into a big VOID. I often hear people bemoan a lack of interest or engagement on their posts when they’ve poured their heart and soul into their writing. It can be demoralizing and the truth is you never really know when your post is going to strike a chord with people or whether it’s going to just die quietly in the night.
I’ve had posts that I’ve considered some of my best writing go completely un-noticed and then others which were off-the-cuff with little thought get lots of comments or fat upvotes dropped on them by passing whales. I've even had posts pick up comments months, or even years after I've long forgotten them. You never really know if you’re getting it right but I think the key to success on HIVE is Persistence. You’ve got to keep plugging away and the Followers and the Upvotes will come. This HIVE game is a Marathon, not a Sprint.
HIVE ON!
