It wasn’t too long ago that the LEO project was all the rage on HIVE. It seemed that every 2nd post in my feed was talking about LEO and how this “Layer 2 Token” was going to show the way forward for the HIVE blockchain. Needless to say, there was a lot of hype around LEO and I am normally very wary of buying into hype so I was happy to let the opportunity slide by me at the time. Earlier in the year LEO was trading at over $1 USD and today it’s down to about 18 cents….but is the party over?
I personally like to invest in projects that have proven they have “legs” after the initial hype has worn off and I am wondering if LEO might now be one of those projects. I’m still playing catch up on a lot of the recent developments and future plans, but I’m encouraged by the fact that there ARE recent developments and future plans. Many fly-by-night crypto projects would have probably thrown in the towel after an 80% drop in their token price during a great bull market year for broader crypto, so is this project now worth a punt at this price? I think perhaps the answer is YES.
I’ve been accumulating LEO for a couple of weeks now and while I have a target stake in mind, that target might change if the price changes – for better or worse. There is every chance that the LEO token goes to zero from here with a slow bleed out. I’ve seen many projects do exactly that in recent years, but there is also a good chance that it could go up by 500% and I really do like what I am seeing so far from the main developer so this is looking like a pretty obvious Asymmetric Risk play. I won’t go too much into the specifics of what I am seeing on a technical level because I am still getting my head around a lot of it and I am no expert on all things LEO. But I am seeing enough positive signs to take a bit of a punt and I have some ideas on how I might get a bit more involved in this community in 2022 so this could be a fun project to have a play with.
