WHITE HOUSE ACKNOWLEDGES UKRAINE'S USE OF ATACMS AGAINST RUSSIA: OFFICIAL STATEMENT
During a briefing, John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council, publicly confirmed for the first time that Ukraine is authorized to use ATACMS missiles against Russian territory as part of self-defense efforts. According to Kirby, these missiles are currently deployed to address urgent needs, particularly in operations around Kursk and the Kursk region.
Kirby emphasized that this decision reflects the broader scope of U.S. military aid to Ukraine, ensuring it has the necessary tools to counter Russian aggression. The deployment of ATACMS has already played a critical role in targeting key infrastructure, including airfields and storage facilities behind enemy lines.
This acknowledgment also carries significant political weight, underscoring the strengthening partnership between the U.S. and Ukraine. It sends a clear message to Russia about the potential vulnerabilities of its logistical and strategic assets, altering its calculus in the ongoing conflict.
