Since starting my Steem powerdown I’ve used three different methods! The first week, the only way available to trade Steem to Hive was @ionomy. Week two, Blocktrades was up and running so I used them, and for week three I used my existing Bittrex account as they finally opened up Steem/Hive deposits & withdrawals as well.

For you I’d recommend looking at the Ionomy exchange. It worked just fine and I was very satisfied. If you’ve never used an exchange/trading platform before it can be a bit more confusing than Blocktrades simple format, but it’s not overwhelming. Good luck!
