Agreed on everything you just said! I think the modern variant cover speculation bubble may crash, I don't feel like that sort of manufactured scarcity has the staying power of the older rare issues as you mentioned.

In the modern age I do feel like there's a sweet spot of late 90's early 2000's comics that are actually quite low print run and rarity. After the market busted then, I think lots of mainstream titles were only eking out print runs of 20,000 or so! Looks like that Hulk #449 was around 170k though... I'm actually pretty surprised it was that high!

Now that I'm more entrenched in the crypto world... it's also a game of which will climb higher or bust bigger... my crypto or the comics! 😂 Which do I FOMO harder on and put the cash toward now? After all, If I hit it big in crypto world... then I can afford those Mega Keys!
