I finally got around to reading this off my shelf! Very much enjoyed it. I don’t feel like it could benefit from a second arc from where they ended the tale of course, but I agree the argument could be made that it could have been a more extended story to really build the horrific imagery and suspense at a slower pace and perhaps weave another side narrative or two into the mix. The source material would certainly support it.
