I too have not kept up with Savage Dragon over the years but am amazed at Larsen’s steadfast dedication to the series. I picked up a recent issue which was designed to parody a bunch of classic comic strip styles and Erik’s knowledge and love of the genre really shone through.

If I’m correct, I believe the current hero is the original Dragon’s son, Malcolm. I just recently learned that Larsen actually has the series structured in “real time.” So the issues published 20 years ago actually occurred 20 years ago for the characters as well! Thus the presence of an adult son, etc. It’s a refreshing concept vs. the “ageless” characters in mainstream books (or the Simpsons!) and makes me want to read the whole series now. It also makes me feel old... 😆
