I'm always excited to see use cases like this emerging, but in my opinion quite a few things need to happen to make it successful.

First and foremost there still needs to be a quick and simple way to "load" your patron account with Hive from fiat. Without simple on-ramps it'll still just be those with substantial Hive earnings and reserves utilizing it.

Mainly though, you still need all the elements that help make Patreon, Kickstarter and the like the successes that they are. There needs to be solid tracking and metrics, so that things like leaderboards and tiers of donors can be established. There needs to be an integrated way of privately messaging supporters as well. That way at least a content creator could transmit the password to a private Discord or website, or securely request contact info for shipping physical rewards and products as well.

Fundition never bothered to develop any of these items. There was no "back end" for creators to truly interact with their fans and supporters or reward their loyalty appropriately.

I think all of these things are solvable, and I hope they're doable in creative ways. I am not a developer so all I can do is think in "what ifs"...

For instance, HiveMind is obviously capable of setting up custom roles & titles as we see in current community features. What if we had private encrypted communities. Actively donating Patron accounts could then be "whitelisted," meaning that HiveMind would assign a role that recognized those accounts memo keys are capable of unencrypting and participating in the community.

I think the possibilities are endless, but we're still a bit away from the usability we need for mass adoption.
