Even though we are already familiar with the wonders of Mato Grosso do Sul, it is impossible not to be amazed by this unique scenery.
As soon as we left Campo Grande, we immediately noticed the remarkable change in the landscape, with stunning colors surrounding us.
Throughout the journey, we were accompanied by the various manifestations of the cerrado, which revealed themselves in different forms: extensive fields, mountains, trails, rock formations, pastures, and herds of cattle.
Consequently, we had the privilege of witnessing the sunrise along this 150-kilometer journey, which took us from the Capital to the majestic Morro do Paxixi.
Consequently, we parked the car and followed the trail.
While the old train didn't cross the Pantanal, we pondered what it would be like if it were restored and the station preserved.
Along the railway line, the landscapes of the Maracaju Mountain Range served as the attractions.
Undoubtedly, they are stunning vistas, including the Hat Hill, Big Thumb Hill, Macaw's Beak, Bat Waterfall, and Paxixi Hill.
We were then guided by the sound of water.
Finally, we reached the little beach on the banks of the Aquidauana River in the Maracaju Mountain Range.
As we follow the road, we come across a waterfall from Morcego Creek, which is approximately 3 meters tall.
From up high, the water cascades into the valley, falling from a height of 36 meters, offering a stunning view that includes rocks, lush vegetation, and a stream.
Continuing along the narrow road towards the Paxixi Hill lookout, we encounter potholes that are impossible to navigate with a car.
We can clearly hear the wind's song among the vegetation, and the sensation when it touches our faces is unforgettable.
Finally, as we sit there, the certainty of our natural wealth and the anticipation of the next visit to Morro do Paxixi is to witness the sunset.
