We had no classes today cause of some movement going on here about a bill. I don't really want to get involved about it so I'll stick away from it here in my post.
Today, I opened up my art supplies and decided to do some practice. Well, I don't really know if I did good here, just tell me if you don't like it so I can do better next time. Anyway, I used cray pas to color this piece. Cray pas is really charming cause of it's bright colors that looks like paint when used in such a way. It can also work good with water color which I think I didn't really did well here. But well, I tried.
I wanted to make a koi pond illustration cause I want to use more of my bright warm colors. I'm kind of inspired by the subject koi (carp) because I find koi(plural form of koi is also koi) really pretty for it's bright colors(and we own a koi pond too).

I made the drawing without doing any sketches. I did that because I'm confident that doing mistakes with cray pas is easy to fix cause of how easy the drawing material is.
If you commit a mistake with cray pas, you can just simply blend it with the right color for the area, its really easy even the canvas you are working with is just bond paper.
See here, I just simply overlapped three colors on the orange pastel to form an eye without giving the impression that the overlapping is forced. It looks naturally drawn as if no overlaps had happened.
Here I added the body.
Then I drew some scales
I added more details and there you go, the fish is now complete. It really looks more of a painting here. People might even think that its a real painting if you display it with a frame. That is how beautiful cray pas is.
To add more dynamics in the drawing I added some more subjects into it by adding more fishes.
Same process here too. I just can't stop falling in love with cray pas' charming colors, its so inviting.
Then I added another koi.
Same thing here.
Then I added some sky blue as a background to represent water.
I then added navy blue to represent as deeper part of the water.
Then I applied purple water color to act as the contrast of the bright color pastels.
And there we have it, a full drawing I made for my day off from school!
Maybe I'll show this drawing to my classmates when I come back to school and brag a little about it if this post gets some rewards(20$ please)
Well, I don't know if I can brag about the quality of the drawing because there are a lot of good illustrators in class(cause maybe I'm taking fine arts)
