These first and simple four steps of self growth will help you become the person you aim to be. Keep in mind while reading this, everyone is different, meaning everyone's self growth journey will be different to the other.
1.stop overthinking & begin
I've had this Steemit tab open for a long time, weeks, in fact. Waiting and contemplating what I should write about and how I should write it. I did not know where or how to begin, so I waited and procrastinated. I wasted my precious time.
I recently read something that made me realize that not everything needs to be planned all the way through. Not knowing everything is okay. Living through life's inevitable oblivion is what makes experiences so amazing. We should, instead of fear the unknown, conquer and face it. Fight against your procrastination and fear of exploring your creativity. This is how to get things done, promote growth in yourself, and experience life to the fullest extent. Learn. Accomplish what you've always wanted to accomplish and stop wasting time. Stop overthinking. Get up and just begin.
"Everything is like beginning a sentence before knowing how it's going to end".
2.become grateful
This is the step that allows you to become aware of your surroundings and allows you to think optimistically. It will welcome acceptance and avoid judgment from or to anyone. It changes the way you think and perceive your environment and others. This'll lead to feeling more connected with not only the environment you are in, but the people you choose to spend time with. This'll start the journey of inner healing, consciousness, and growth.
3.measure progress with where you were before and not where you are aiming to be
This new mindset is easier said than done. To be more optimistic and seeing the cup half full instead of half empty is not the mindset we've grown up with. Society has been telling us to focus on how much we still need to do to achieve our goals, but focusing on how far you've come will put you, not in a state of stress and pressure, but rather a state of gratitude and pride.
4.acceptance & letting be
This is an essential step in the journey of self growth, acceptance and letting be. When a person changes in any way or form, connections with others fade. You'll tend to realize that the people you used to connect with aren't doing it for you anymore. It is inevitable that with growth, change follows, causing you to lose people you were once close to, but do not fight it. Let it go. Accept it. Because if you fight it, you will not only prevent yourself from your own inner growth, but you will cause hardships, stress, and inner struggle. Just like The Beatles said, 'Let it be'. Growth and change is not an easy process, pain comes with it, but accepting that pain and turning it into a new you is worth it in the long run. It will fill your soul in many more ways and measures than any of the people you once connected with could.
