I threw 36K into PolyCub which in some respects have seemed heavy but I have less than 1% of the xPolyCub pool. My initial strategy was to put some into CUB to tap into the airdrop but mainly be on the PolyCub side and put a solid chunk into xPolyCub right away under the thinking that if I got into that early as long as it could survive for six months that my probability of making a profit would be high.

What I Hate About DeFi Farms

For starters we all need to realize we are playing Survivor / Chicken for each other's money. We are trying to outwit and outlast each other. If you get in early and don't get pressed out too soon you have a high probability of success.

In DeFi farms I have won more than I have lost but in a few situations I did get my teeth knocked out. A couple times I lost more than $5,000 and then was like "Why do I financially abuse myself with these?" You end up doing a lot of mental gymnastics and when you get down on these suddenly you question if you should switch strategies and try to farm your way out of the situation. It suddenly isn't fun.

You feel like you are in quicksand. That is the main thing I don't like. Suddenly the APRs and APYs can be somewhat of a fasade. In relation to PolyCub I basically cut most the APRs in half because I'm mainly harvesting for now and taking the 50% hit but benefiting from everyone doing that by being in xPolyCub. Everything is hard to calculate. For what I have in there I am harvesting and redeploying the capital often to try to pick up on more compounding effect since Polygon fees are low.

Everytime I get in these farms I quickly realize I will be farming way longer than I initially anticipated and will have to be way more active than I initially wanted to be.

Sould You Get In PolyCub?

Unless you can't put food on the table and your ribs are showing I think everyone should engage in the CUB / PolyCub ecosystem. You biggest risk off strategy is to stake stablecoins in the stablecoin farm on PolyCub and then sell the earnings for more stablecoins. Or you can invest in the 4Belt stablecoin Kingdom on CubDefi and then stake the Cub for 60% APY and then get the airdrop on the PolyCub side and then sell that for more stablecoins and either stake that on the PolyCub side or bridge that back over to the Binance Smart Chain side and add that to the 4Belt pool to complete the "Infinite Loop". At least that could work for the next 50 days as long as the PolyCub airdrop is going on. I didn't use this strategy because I got greedy and wanted to financially abuse myself. My strategies might work out in the future and my main goal is to double up my investment. It could take 6 months or more to do that in my opinion.

Strategies For The Future

I haven't went into the Matic-pLeo pool yet but if I do and it doesn't work out for me in the short term than my exit strategy is to take the pLeo and bridge it to LeoFinance, power it up and blog a lot more. If I do that you will be hearing a lot more about the California Dogecoin.

I would essentially have to blog my way out of the corner as a fallback strategy. Coming up you will still be hearing a lot more about the California Dogecoin because we have our Barnstormer tour coming up.

Entire Market Issues

When CUB came out a year ago the market was starting to pump. We aren't in the same kind of market currently and people will probably be paying $7 / gallon for gas soon so market conditions are different right now. It is a big worry for me because suddenly we are trying to swim upstream.

What Can Help PolyCub?

There is multiple reasons for demand for LEO and also multiple demand avenues for CUB. PolyCub doesn't have external demand whether that be in a liquidity pool on another farm or some sort of game you can play with it or doing some NFT market with it. All this is a huge amount of extra work but if there isn't some additional demand for PolyCub my worry is that even with restricted supply if the price drops enough then the APRs won't be juicy enough to take on the contract risk and people go to greener pastures. That is partially happening with Pancake Swap (CAKE) and BiSwap (BSW). It can even happen on Bluechip platforms.

It has to be a better mousetrap and while the X Factor for this ecosystem is the built in community from HIVE / LeoFinance. Also the continued trust in the developers in the fact that they are front and center and always seem to be doing the right thing.

If there wasn't a question mark of legality in various jurisdictions it would be interesting if someone did contracts where people could bet PolyCub on who was going to win the NCAA tournament and the winner would get a good chunk of the pot and some of it got burned. Then doing the same for the NBA....etc.

Another way would be trying to create Arcade games that are a game of skill where some of the funds were burned so overtime people play the game to get more to create more demand.

PolyCub Isn't The Final Answer

Don't get me wrong, I'm bullish on the entire ecosystem but we have somewhat seen these type of setups with stuff like DeFi Kingdoms on Harmony One and even with their NFTs and games and the premise of an airdrop the JEWEL token still took a hard hit in this market.

Even if there was some NFT that was purchased that was a HIVE Punk, Bored Ape, Neo Tokyo or some other NFT and then it was raffled to a random address and each PolyCub sacrificed is like a ticket.

Also doing a raffle for a supercar.....dude....that's the answer 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Screw these pixelated NFTs and the raffles are legal in pretty much all jurisdictions. Cars can be shipped all over the world.

Here is the way it works..... basically a farm uses part of the emissions to fill up the raffle address and other normal farming activities occur as well to push demand to the token and keep the token prices up.

People can pay into the raffle address for entry and on a certain date it randomly selects an address. The winner then comes forward and verifies it is them by signing a transaction from that address and arrangements are made to deliver the car.

Would you guys want a pixelated ape or a supercar?
