We are too aware yet not malicious enough to have everything this timeline has to offer. Will there be a reward for that? It's very hard to say. No one told us the rules of this game.
Like you mention farming is a brutal contract at this point for large scale farmers. It is debt based and it's like you have to be born into it and can never really get out of it unless you get destroyed. I think some small scale farms can actually do better. Like a small orchard essentially that has some wines, flowers, pumpkins, Christmas trees.... etc.
The most brutal reality is all the work people put in over the decades to have it all stolen back from them essentially and the realization that they have chased a carrot but will never get to retire or enjoy anything.
