Hi friends,
This morning, I decided to go prospecting for gold before we headed home from Arizona. Due to the heat, I left the house a little before 5:30am.
There is some gold around the mountains where I was at, as there is an old mining town that close by and a few current mining operations working the area.
I selected a creek bed that runs away from some of the mountains with current gold operations in my preparations and headed down a dirt road for about 4 miles before arriving. Here is what the view was like:
I dug a few holes, like this one next to some bedrock:
And now, to be anti climatic, I actually don’t know if I got any gold today 🙈. I took some buckets of classified material to the river but it was running too slow for my sluice box. I will need to run the material in a different part of the river next time I am out there but I ran out of time today... will update you next time to let you know how much (if any) hold I managed to get!
Thanks for stopping by!
Brian
