Hi Friends,
This post is an entry into the weekly contest of @socalsteemit where we show our California.
One of favorite things is tent camping. My wife not a big fan, so we do not do it much, but growing up, I was able go visit many of the great locations for camping here in California. There is ample amounts of wild or organized campground camping options available in the state. There are also a wide variety of locations to camp in - beaches, mountains, lakes, desert, etc.
With my kids starting to get older, I periodically attempt a backyard camping adventure to gauge their interest and how it will go. Last night, was the latest attempt and the first one we tried to have Kendra sleep outside with us (she will be 2 in a couple of months).
We enjoyed some s’mores, read some books, and then went lights out. Kendra was too amped up, and we gave up after 45 minutes of her thinking it was a big playground and she and my wife went in for the night. Jacob and I stayed and slept in the tent and he did really good - I think he is ready for a couple night trip! Here are a couple of pictures from the adventure:
Only bummer was when Kendra got stung by a bee this morning when we were putting the tent away...
Thanks for coming by today,
Brian
