My little guy is approaching 6 months, what a fun age!! Continuing my series, I will provide some fun activities to do with Baby at this age!
- Get an activity mat, like this one. They will love it!
- Practice rolling over...and over...and over. Put a big blanket down so they have space!
- Dance, sing and play music!
- Go our for a walk! They love it and now you can face them out in most carriers
- Give them lots of (clean) toys they can play with, shake and put in their mouths of course
- Practice sitting up. Some babies can do this around 5-6 months, others might take longer but practice can start now
- Give them toys that light up and make sound. Their hand eye coordination is getting much better. Give them something to touch and hit that is fun
- Go for car rides, not just soothing but fun!
- Get then a sit-me-up and attach lots of toys to it to play with
- Give them a ball. They will start to practice grabbing it and tossing it if even by accident
- Read stories with bright big pictures. They are starting to really look and pay attention now and reading will help develop language skills
- Sign to them, learn the sign for milk, sleep, more, etc and start doing it each time you use that word
- Play peek a boo
- Tickle and play, they will begin to laugh and smile each time now
