So many L2 sidechains for Ethereum now I'm beginning to think in the future each dapp will have its own chain connected via the beacon chain, similar to how Cosmos and Polkadot have been engineered from the beginning. This seems to be the route Ethereum is taking as well, as they prepare for the merge. My question is will these general-purpose sidechains survive long-term if all successful dapps eventually branch off on their own.
