beginners were adviced by Bro.Eli to start with the New Testament when it comes to reading the word , not Genesis. This is because the New Testament contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are part of the new covenant we now follow as Christians.
The new Testament contains foundation of Christian faith this gives you a clear understanding of it before you can now go to the old Testament.
The Old Testament mostly contains the laws of Moses and the early history of God’s people. Reading it first, without understanding the New Testament, can be confusing for someone new to the Bible. Many verses in the New Testament actually refer to the Old Testament, so starting with the teachings of Christ gives more clarity when you later read the older scriptures.
We were reminded by bro eli that understanding the Bible helps us grow in faith and feel more connected to God’s love.
