I am a farmer from South Africa, recently we endured an 8 year consecutive drought, and it posed numerous challenges to bridge. As this region is already dependent solely on summer rainfall, it is not the wettest to start with, we mostly rely on underground water through the dry season, but as the drought went on that too dried up. However, where there is a will there is a way, we adapted new techniques as time went on.
Even before the drought, we were successfully farming our mangos and other crops on dry land, but not without its own set of challenges. Soil health is of utmost importance!
