oh man, what a heartbreaker, I feel your pain man..
at some stage, I camped off an area to plant, spent days planting, and the goats came in, needless to say I lost all the work, I started from scratch, at that stage, the goats new were the treasures were and the kept breaking through the fence after that.
At least sheep are not as destructive and generally stay behind their fences... thats if the gates are closed...

loving the berries!might be low yield plants as you said, but they sure make up for it in nutritional value!
