Not only the election campaign in the USA is causing problems for Ukraine, but also the side stages that are opening up. Russia is meanwhile producing tanks again and filling its depots with the latest technology. Since almost all money is flowing into armaments and the population in Russia says yes and amen to it, I have to confront the EU with a new reality. Even if Russia's long arms reach into European politics through the AfD, BSW, and similar parties, there are still enough people who recognize that things are getting serious.
Russia is experienced because of the war in Ukraine and knows what matters by now. The most recent simulation in the Baltic region has made clear that we are still far from being able to defend NATO territory against these new circumstances. If the senseless war in Ukraine has taught us one thing, it is that it is incredibly difficult to reconquer lost territory—and if it happens at all, only with high losses.
It is therefore advisable and wise to nip an attack in the bud, just as Ukraine is doing. Here, threats are detected in time through satellite reconnaissance and destroyed in advance—that is, on Russian soil. Electronic warfare and, above all, sufficient air defense are the core points that matter.
Eutelsat is another candidate for an upcoming boom, as investors and the state project a systemically relevant future here. The failure of the Americans clearly shows that Europe must become independent—and as quickly as possible. Russia is trying everything to exploit the instability that currently still prevails, and we will definitely see even more incidents throughout Europe. Recently, threats were again made against politicians and industrialists, who now need even more protection.
The insights are therefore there, but the implementation is not yet perfect, because every country in Europe is once again doing its own thing. A centralized procurement system is unfortunately still missing, as is the corresponding European army. Costs would fall dramatically if everyone pulled in the same direction and not everyone used their own weapons system. This challenge will presumably also be solved in the future—and preferably before we are finally abandoned by the Americans and attacked by the Russians.
Mass production, just as with Starlink, will cause prices to fall in the future; the market economy will regulate this problem too. The transition is somewhat bumpy, however, since we continue to make ourselves dependent on the Americans. But when the Americans make unrealistic demands and symbolic deals with the opponent, then you no longer know what to do. The Americans' oil deal with the Russians would last for 14 hours in their own country, according to reports, and can therefore only be described as pure symbolic politics. Even the ultimatum of a weapons pause was not followed by the Russians in the slightest, as several heavy attacks were even carried out on the capital, Kyiv. Naturally, Ukraine then continues exactly where it has success: with the systematic destruction of Russia's infrastructure—and that consists of oil and bot networks.
