I am always skeptical of these "emergency preparedness" plans because they are often scapegoats for something more man-made. Suffice to say, it is still always important to be prepared. I hate the thought of what so many people will go through if our power grid goes down.
Have a plan in action. Communicate with people in your community who are like minded.
I look at it this way. If the government is preparing for it, you should be to. Do not rely on them...EVER
Remember its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it...
