What's up fellows as you are? well I was a little busy these days, so I could not upload any post in these 5 days, but well, this morning I decided to draw a character from Dumbo (1941) Timothy, to continue bringing characters from old Disney movies, movies which I repeated many times in my childhood.

Que pasa compañeros como están? bueno yo estuve algo ocupado estos días, por eso no pude subir ningún post en estos 5 días, pero bueno, esta mañana decidi dibujar a un personaje de Dumbo (1941) Timothy, para seguir trayendo personajes de peliculas viejas de disney, peliculas las cuales repetí en muchas ocasiones en mi infancia.

I always make the sketch by hand, because for now I don't have a graphic tablet to be able to draw with a lot of freedom, I keep on drawing with the mouse, for now :), once I have finished the sketch, I switch to digital to use the linearwork tool on SAI, since some time ago, I look for some effects a little bit more semi realistic, that's why I make the lineart quite thin to be able to remove the lines without any problem.

Siempre suelo realizar el boceto a mano, porque por ahora no tengo una tableta gráfica para poder dibujar con mucha libertad, sigo dibujando con el mouse, por ahora:), una vez tengo terminado el boceto, lo paso a digital para utilizar la herramienta de linearwork en SAI, desde hace un tiempo, busco algunos efectos un poquito mas semi realistas, por eso el lineart lo hago bastante fino para poder quitar las lineas sin ningún problema.

I started drawing the clothes, with yellow colors and shines, once I finished painting the clothes I started to paint what was the fur, it's one of the most tedious things to draw in mouse, try to make a half realistic effect of the hair, once I had completed those details, we went to one of the most important parts, give depth to the drawing, more relief.

El pintado, comencé dibujando la ropa, con colores y brillos amarillos, una vez termine de pintar la ropa comencé a pintar lo que era el pelaje, es una de las cosas mas tediosas de dibujar en mouse, tratar de hacer un efecto medio realista del pelo, una vez ya había completado esos detalles, pasamos a una de las partes mas importantes, darle profundidad al dibujo, mas relieve.

I decided to place the shadows on the left side of Timothy because the shadows would come from the right side, now placing the shadows is not as easy as placing them on one side and already, we must have a clear idea where and how we should place them and once we apply the main shadow, we must start to paint and add the shadows inside the shadows, to give more detail to the drawing.

Las sombras decidí colocarlas al lado izquierdo de Timothy pues los brillos vendrían del lado derecho, ahora colocar las sombras no es tan fácil como colocarlas de un lado y ya, debemos tener una idea clara donde y como debemos colocarlas y una vez aplicamos la sombra principal, debemos comenzar a pintar y añadir las sombras dentro de las sombras, para darle mas mas detalle al dibujo.

The lights were placed on the right side of the drawing and also came from the upper right side of the drawing representing flashes of the sun, if you notice in the reference image, it was on a kind of stick looking at the sky, at least that's how I saw it and I decided to do the version that way, once I had placed the lights on the edges of the drawing, I had to place them in the center to give more effect and avoid looking too flat, also to the coat, it's another of the complicated parts, because I have to place another linear but as a coat and fuse it with the previous painting.

La luces estaban colocadas a la parte derecha del dibujo y ademas venían de la parte superior derecha del dibujo representando destellos del sol, si notan en la imagen de referencia, estaba en una especie de palo mirando posicionado al cielo, al menos así lo vi yo y decidí hacer la versión de esa manera, una vez había colocado las luces en los bordes del dibujo, debía colocarlos en el centro para darle mas efecto y evitar que se mirara demasiado plano, también al pelaje, es otra de las partes complicadas, pues debo colocar otro linear pero como pelaje y fusionarlo con el pintado previo.

As you can see the background was semi simple, because it was the sky, we only have to start with a light color and increase the darkness, without exaggerating too much so as not to blur, let's always try to look for a union in the colors, at least in the sky, once the sky ends we add some clouds with some touches of yellow light, finally we put a glow from the upper right to the lower left.

Como ven el fondo estaba semi simple, pues era el cielo, solo debemos empezar con un color claro y ir aumentando la oscuridad, sin exagerar demasiado para no difuminar, tratemos siempre de buscar una unión en los colores, al menos en el cielo, una vez termine el cielo añadimos algunas nubes con algunos toques de luz amarilla, por ultimo coloque un resplandor desde la parte superior derecha hasta la inferior izquierda.
