My ultimate DTube/Steemit goal is the same as my larger goal which is to make a living from my content. The strategy I had been preparing to do this revolved around making multiple Youtube channels covering different niches and releasing a video a week (at least) on each channel consistently. I would aim for virality and be catering the messages towards a younger audience in general, taking brand deals along the way to make ends meat.
Then I found Steemit and with it DTube. I've been looking for ways to support decentralized projects for about 6 months now and so far the only way I could was to invest in the coins themselves as I could get them. If you've ever tried to invest in an ICO you know what I mean. Boy am I on a number of waitlists! But now there exists a fully functioning decentralized social network anyone can support, so here I am!
I would love to be a full time content creator for DTube. It would be an empowering message to spread to my peers that I make my money online sharing my thoughts on a decentralized social media platform. Everyone would want to sign up and give it a shot sharing as much knowledge as they have to offer. Youtube is so big and competitive now that even if I did succeed there, it wouldn't have the same empowering effect DTube would. My friends already see my small success on the platform as unattainable for them even if they tried!
In 2018, I'll be releasing vlogs exclusively on Dtube. I need a platform that will let me express my thoughts and share all of my life without punishing me for it (I'm referring to Youtube here and the way it's content surfacing algorithm works). I'm 6 months out of my job, starting businesses, and learning as much about everything possible. I have a lot of insight I want to share and DTube looks like the perfect place to do it.
