I've been wanting to dig out and digitize a bunch of my pre-digital age artwork. I finally got around to starting on that this past weekend. I'm going to scan a bunch of my block prints and other paper collage work. Here's to a great start!
I started doing block printing using linoleum block from art supply stores. These are layer of carvable plastic on top of particle board. It has a very consistent texture which makes it easier to accurately cut small details. But after a few of those, I decided I liked the challenge and the wild textures that came from just using old lumber, keeping the wood grain textures and all. Here's one of those.
