Normal assumptions are that putting money in a bank, is safe and secure, but that is not actually the case.

Once funds are deposited, the bank has control of them, and it's not like losing your coin keys, 'they' have control over your money.

"Safe as a bank" is an old expression that is just a concept.

Memories of Greece are still fresh in many peoples minds, having assets siezed with no compensation was the jist of it.

And the cartel are at it again in Spain, which makes BTC and other coins even more interesting, as their decentralised nature, means this form of control is not possible. No wonder BTC and other coins are growing rapidly in adoption.
