The boom in PV solar system has been huge over the last 2 or 3 decades.
Now some of these panels are getting to end of life, how do we deal with them.
The panels are apparently 90% recyclable, as all the metals can be extracted from them.
The question is what about eCars? Many people buy & have bought eCars on the basis of them being good for the environment, but what is the real cost. What happens when batteries give up. The cost to replace them exceed the value of the vehicle, it is simply cheaper to buy a new vehicle. That is after the high environmental cost of the original manufacture.
At some point the actual cost of environmental protection needs to be considered.
Shipping waste plastic and computer tech to countries like India, is not the solution.
