In an age when information is in demand at an incresing rate, one has to wonder what FIOA actually means.
The intent may have been to make governments transparent, but that does not seem to be the case.
If the costs are no prohibitive, then the delays and redactions that blackout huge amounts of data are a joke, well they would be if it did not highlight what amounts to cover ups.
Certainly National Security is an issue, that no one would probably argue with. But at what point does the redactions of common english or other language become too much. Are we to expect the entire alphabet to become a token of National Security?
We the people, elect Governments to represent us, the people, not to protect their own wrong doings.
If they have nothing to hide, why make FOIA so difficult?
