Today I thought I would write about a whole lot of nothing and maybe a little about something. We are having one of the nicest summers in a very long time here in Newfoundland. But the downside of that is we have a very long stretch without rain. But when I got up this morning there it was. The lovely rain from mother nature falling. Helping to keep everything alive. It is wonderful stuff.

And wow, I slept in this morning (for me). I think it was almost 7am before i rolled out of bed. Bless Sundays. I had such a blessed day yesterday. My grand-daughter turned 3. I am a very proud grand-father. I am very thankful she is healthy, smart as a whip, very articulate beyond her 3 years of age. All the grand-parents got together, my wife made the birthday cake. Just one of the moments in life where you wish you could hit the pause button and stay in the moment forever. All the bad in life just stops during events like that. Wonderful.

And today we have plans to go for a drive, my grand-son and his parents of on vacation (they live 8 hours away) and gone camping not far ( a hour or so) from us. So we are going to go for a drive and go see them. Two wonderful days in a row (I hope) to be alive.

I know some people, and maybe some people reading this post are not as lucky as I am, maybe have or have had tragedy in their lives. I know some people will be the same and some people may have it better that myself. But I just wanted to share some personal reflection on why I am so happy to be alive during these challenging time in the world.

After 100+ days of doing the I Am Alive Challenge, I don't know if @flaxz did it on purpose or it just jumped into my head. The double meaning to those four words. Yes it is a Hive Challenge, but sometimes it is a Challenge to be alive.
