Race director Charlie Whiting has died.
He found dead in Melbourne Australia, just before the 2019, season opener.

Mr. Whiting was a 66-year-old, the hidden, yet huge figure of the FIA and F1, was found dead in his hotel room.
He was the overall Formula One Race Director. His responsibilities included starting the races and determining when to halt, pause or resume them. His other duties encompassed, safety delegation, head of the F1 technical department, where he generally managed the logistics of all F1 events. He also, inspected the cars in parc fermé before races, enforced FIA guidelines, and controlled the lights that started each race.
