Since we've had a garden, my wife has always asked to make room for flowers. Me, being practical, have always declined the proposition and relegated her flowers to the front of the house. I look at my plants like my animals: it serves a tangible purpose, or it's gone. And by tangible, I mean it feeds me, clothes me, protects me, or makes me some money. If I'm going to spend my time, weeding, watering, and caring for a plant, it has to do something!
