If you have been following me for more than a week, you probably know that I am pretty heavily invested in NFTs over on the WAX blockchain. Besides Hive/Leo, that is probably my single biggest investment. The cool thing is, it cost me virtually nothing to get started because I used all of my powered down STEEM to purchase WAX when it was $.03 per token.
By purchasing that WAX, it gave me the opportunity I needed to start buying some NFTs when certain projects launched. I have already talked at length in my other posts about Alien Worlds, but one of the other projects I invested in fairly early was Dark Country.
Part of what really drove me to Dark Country was the art on the cards. They really knocked it out of the park on that. The cards are just a joy to look at and explore. I am not that great at strategy card games, but I do know the value that games like this can have down the road. Just look at Magic the Gathering and Splinterlands.
I made a little bit of WAX from some of my NFTs that I have staked on RPlanet. RPlanet actually pays you in a token called Aether and then you have to convert that to WAX on an exchange. The price of Aether is pretty decent right now, so I was able to get a good chunk of WAX.
Since Dark Country just announced that they are going to start selling land and they also decided to expand to the FLOW blockchain, I thought it might be a good idea to pick up some more assets. I took my newly earned WAX and I bought 141 standard packs from the Dark Country website. I also picked up enough of the Reviving Potions to open those packs and give me a better chance for some really good cards.
In the end I got about 715 cards from those packs. I got one mythic, a handful of legendaries, some epics, a bunch of rare, and a few common cards.
Overall, I am fairly happy with my haul. Now I begin the long process of moving them from my Dark Country account to my WAX account and deciding what to do with them. I might sell a couple, I might stake some in RPlanet. I am not sure yet.
I also may just hold onto them and wait for the full game to be launched. It is possible one of these cards might be part of a meta-build and the price could skyrocket.
There is a lot of excitement around the Dark Country game and although it doesn't currently or directly offer a passive income like Alien Worlds, I think it has a ton of potential. Especially if they are able to successfully launch the mobile app that they are working on.
This could potentially be Hearthstone big!
Of course, do your own research, but this is where I am putting my chips down right now!
