There is a style of fences down in Kentucky that I think you would really like. They lay the flat stones just so that they make a really cool wall. My sister and her husband used to live down there and my brother in law told me they were getting worried because all the old people who knew the proper way to build it were dying off and the skill was going to be lost. I'm not really sure how much skill is needed to stack rocks, but apparently some!
