My alarm went off at 4 AM this morning which honestly isn't any different from any other day. What was different was the fact that instead of heading to work, I pointed my truck towards the hospital.
My mom is having her knee replaced this morning and I am hanging out with my dad in the waiting room. Don't worry, I'm not ignoring him. He is busy on his Kindle reading a book.
It sounds like we are going to be here for at least three hours. I expect it will turn into a whole day thing. I mean I can't just cut and run when the surgery is finished right?
I had every intent of doing a Hive power up today, then I ran into a bit of an issue.
You see, I thought I was doing the smart thing, but it has since turned out to be a huge headache for me. While I have the Keychain app on my phone as well as the Ecency app, I don't have my active key loaded into either one of them.
Like I said, it seemed like a good idea at the time. More secure, less chance of losing my precious Hive if someone were to get their hands on my phone.
I didn't have the foresight to realize that means I can't do any power ups from my mobile device. I am hoping I make it home in time to do a power up on my laptop, but if I don't, at least know I tried.
I used to have a Google Doc with my keys in it, but I recently realized how bad of a move that is, so while I still have access to the Doc, my active key is no longer in said doc.
This is the intended amount. I am hoping I at least get it in time to get the badge for today. If not... Oh well.
I think this makes just over 1000 Hive that I have powered up so far this year. I am trying to be a bit more aggressive about building my Hive account. No more talking about having 50K staked, this is the year I do it and hopefully far surpass that.
I will settle for nothing less than 100K staked. That is a number I know I need to reach before mass adoption.
Given the issues this morning, I am on the fence now about whether I should add my active key to my mobile device. What do you think? Do you have your active key loaded into Keychain mobile and/or Ecency mobile?
