I was quite apprehensive of joining at first, he explained that Steemit was a place for high quality technical content and though I am a "techie" by trade, I didn't feel I had anything worth offering.
Eventually, I decided to take the dive anyway (because you never know unless you try right?) and after going through the sign up process and not hearing anything back I was ready to give up.
Luckily, he was part of a group that used to be a STEEM witness. They had a faucet setup that allowed me to immediately create an account and I was gifted 15 or 25 STEEM right off the bat. It was pretty cool and before I knew it I was a blogger!

Thankfully, Steemit has grown, as have my posts (you still might see a picture of my dog every now and then).
Not surprisingly, he has many contacts in the blockchain industry and one of them is pretty involved in Steem and the forthcoming Communities. He made the comment that he would maybe have to look into being active on Steem again and well, that got me excited.
I think it would be awesome to see him back on Steem or one of its front ends posting or simply curating. Let's be honest, the past year or so on Steem has been rough. We have seen some bright spots and some low moments.
The fact that someone who knows infinitely more about blockchain than I probably ever could is interested in #newsteem is pretty exciting. Whether he becomes active again or not, it solidifies the faith I already had that the future holds some awesome things for Steem and its investors.
