Well, we certainly had an exciting weekend in Steem-Land didn't we?
Quite honeslty, I really don't know how bad it was. For about the past year I have made it a habit of taking a break from Steem(it) on the weekends.
It makes my Monday mornings busier than usual, but it also gives me time to relax, reflect, and gather new material.
I realized I was going to quickly burn out if I tried to keep up with posting every day and spent all my time worrying about losing followers if I didn't post.
Maybe that is part of the reason the majority of my upvotes come from delegations and not from actual followers. I do have the loyal few that actually read my posts and stick with me. I understand that the life of a middle aged public school Technology Director may not be that exciting. However, I enjoy sharing my wisdom and experiences and I find the writing a bit therapeutic.
Bottom line... You are stuck with me... Maybe...
Don't worry, I am not going anywhere, but I am trying to figure out what my account is going to look like moving forward with HF 22.
I really admire users like @exyle who have invested heavily in STEEM and have the SP to be able to move to a more curation based account.
He has already wrote several posts about how liberating it is knowing he can count on curation as a passive income. This frees him up from the twice a day posts he felt compelled to write and allows him to do more writing or vlogging when he feels like it.
For me, I don't think my 6000 SP is going to be enough to allow me that privilege. More than likely you will continue to see me plugging away dodging the downvotes trying to organically build my account as much as possible.
I've been playing around with Tribes a bit and they are interesting. I personally feel there are far too many of them right now and there needs to be a "culling". That hasn't really happened for alt coins, so I don't expect it to happen for Tribes anytime soon.
Maybe it never will. The idea of Tribes is to bring people together with similar interests. I suspect if one ends up with only five people and a worthless token, they aren't really going to care because they have each other. :)
Do you think the large number of Tribes being created is a good thing or mostly bloat? Are you going to change your habits on Steem now that curation receives a larger portion of the rewards? What is the minimum amount of SP you would need to hold to move the majority of your activity to curation?
