Today I took a shot at the parasite that grows on the tamarind tree. The parasite sticks tightly to the mother tree, sucking nutrients from the same roots so that it is able to thrive and is green in color.

Benalu absorbs food from the host tree so that it is detrimental to the host, if left untreated, parasites can multiply and can cause the host plant to become thin and eventually dry and the host plant to die.

Benalu can be found easily on large trees in the tropics.
