What is Upland?
Upland is the Earth mapped onto a virtual world. It has its own in-game economy, operating according to the laws of supply and demand set in motion by players such as yourself. Players are able to purchase and sell land, all while exploring the online world. Upland has been in open beta since January 2020. Upland’s platform is powered by the EOS blockchain. Each property in the platform is a unique digital item of which no two are the same and no single one can be owned by multiple parties.
The Gameplay
In Upland players might purchase virtual properties as some kind of mirror double of the real-world property. Upland sets the goal to create a complete digital and realistic economy. Upon starting the game, players are given a few tokens to start purchasing properties. Players start in a largely populated city in the USA and roam from there.
Purchasing and Selling Land
The gameplay is simple – purchase land, earn interest on the land owned, and repeat. You can visit other player’s properties for a small fee. Players can travel to other cities in the United States by hopping on an airplane or traveling via train.
Properties can also be added to qualifying collections. Collections consist of multiple properties that have something in common, mainly location. These collections offer earnings boosts to properties added to the collection, and a nice one-time reward for completing a collection for the first time.
Why You Should Play
Upland is one of the better crypto/NFT games out there. It is easy to get started, and offers new users free funds to play with. You receive 4,500 UPX for just signing up, with more rewarded through collections and events. It offers a comprehensive tutorial on how to get started and what to do. With the plans set for 2021, Upland will continue to grow and offer many activities for players to participate in.
