The cow has to be in heat or else she will not stand still. The bull is constantly just walking around smelling the cows to see who is ready. No courting;)

We used to sell meat retail. Was just one big headache and not worth the little money we made. Now we just raise meet for our family and friends to eat. The scalder is very convenient. Keeps a very constant

We buy straight run chicks so both male and female. We butcher both. We do not sell any. It is illegal to sell them off the farm in KY. Between my family, my sisters family and parents we eat them all.
