Hi ! Long time I did not post anything on my custom 3D Printer. I still have a bunch of parts stuck somewhere in the world.
Hopefully, I received recently improved belts made of PU and 6 steel wires.
So I took some time to improve the parts of the Gantry. I think those are on the final stage.
I changed the belt path to use a blocker with a M3 screw + nut.
There is a small 6mm * 6mm * 6mm pocket for the M3 nut with the needed hole.
Also, I made the design a bit more compact I reduced the height from 15mm to 10mm for each part. It is faster to print.
I increased the Z Top/Bottom Shell to 1mm instead of 0.8mm.
Only 2 perimeters with 0.4mm extrusion width.
For the small part I am using a ZigZag or Linear Infill with 30%.
I print with no cooling fan at 0.2 mm layer height with a very low speed:
For the biggest parts, I am using now the "Strong Hexagon" infill of my slicer with 30% and I am super happy with the stiffness to weight ratio. I do not have the proper tool to measure but it feels plenty strong.
This Strong Hex infill is different than an Hex.

It is basically increasing the size of the Hex pattern, but instead of having only one line, you have two lines: increasing the width.
The part is quiet stiff which is nice because PETG is not a terrible material for this specific parameter.
I found another source of issues on my Z Axis, the Bed support was bending a bit and causing alignment issues.
I am reimplementing it fully, I validated a few thing, but I have to design and to print the new supports before moving on. Using 8mm long unsupported rods is not the best decision I made... I need to think a bit more on how to reduce to the minimum any potential source of bending those guys.
