US Election & Fed
The S&P has lost a bit this week but is still up +20% YTD. Next week will be decisive then: We have the US election on Tuesday, a Fed Meeting on Thursday and we are still in the middle of earnings season with companies like Berkshire Hathaway, Qualcomm, Airbnb or Palantir reporting their numbers. Wow, let that sink in guys!
Since the US Jobs report today wasn’t good at all, the Fed is expected to lower interest rates once more, so that’s off the table. Probably. But the question wether Trump or Harris will make it into the White House is still not sure, race is close. In addition the earnings we saw so far were mixed. Quite an uncertainty Cocktail and Wall Street doesn’t like uncertainty. That’s why we are seeing investors taking some money off the table.
Hopefully end of next week will bring some more clarity.
Will we see S&P at 6000 or at 5000 points next? That is the big question whose answer begins next week.
